AUDITONS
DATES & VENUE

JUNIOR CHORUS auditions will be held on Friday 10th, July 2009 (7:30pm until 10:00 latest).
BY INVITATION for members of the 2009 Wizard of Oz Chorus only. (See Applications below).
Junior Chorus audition will consist of learning a simple dance routine on the night and we will be singing a song from the Wizard of Oz - so you should all know it). Song sheets will be available if you can't remember the words, just be prepared for music and movement.
We will audition all the Chorus all together as a group rather than individually.

As explained in the Newsletter, we will only be having ONE chorus this year. The final size has yet to be decided but it will be less than the 30 we had last year and it may be the case that some of you are unsuccssful in your audition. Please don't be too disappointed and try again next year if the auditions return to an open invitation format.

Results of Auditions will not be given on the night. You will be contacted shortly after Auditions if you are successful or not for a Chorus position. Please ensure we have your latest contact details.

PRINCIPALS auditions will be held on Monday 20th and Friday 24th July 2009 (7:30pm until 10:00).
OPEN AUDITIONS for anyone interested in a principal or minor part.

No age limits, but realistically, Principal parts are more suitable for adults or senior teens as they will involve learning lines, solo performances and maybe solo singing. Minor parts may suit some younger teens.
More details on Characters can be found in the Character listings below.

We will audition Principals individually but may option to try some pairings on the night.
Also, you may be asked to read for a part other than that you are auditioning for. This won't necessarilly be an indication that you are unsuccessful in your primary choice, it's just to allow the Director to assess other posibilities.

As some roles will require singing (possibly solo) so be prepared to audition your voice on the night. If you have a favourite piece please bring a CD backing which we will play for you. If you aren't bothered, we will have a suitable song (and lyrics) for you to try. You can always elect to sing a cappella. (without backing). You decide on the night.

Results of Auditions will not be given on the night. You will be contacted shortly after Auditions if you are successful or not for a part. Please ensure you give us your contact details - preferably when you apply - or on the night.

VENUE for all auditions: Maldon Town Hall, Market Hill, Maldon, Essex. CM9 4RL
